People who reached a 9-10 on the pain scale what happened?
idk how I came up with this idea but it just popped up when I suddenly rememeberd that when I was on a 6 hour plane ride my sinus had just suddenly fucking died and my eye hurt to the max level and I had to endure it for abt 4 hours before wanting to cry
my dad broke c1-t6 and had serious nerve damage.
he reached 10 and described it as like a numbing burning pain under his skin in addition to an absurd weight on his broken spine.
I had a dental abscess. It felt like someone was hammering a red-hot railroad spike into the top of my head. So much pain I could barely see or walk. When the periodontist drained it the relief was amazing, went from a 9 to like a 4, I guess pumping copious amounts of novacaine into the area was probably a big help too.
I wouldn't give it a 10 because I'm sure there is worse pain, but when I got my knee surgery, the nerve block wore off around the time i was waking up the 2nd recovery day. I hadn't had any pain killers since I went to bed like 9 hours before. Holy shit, when I woke up and rolled a little bit I don't think my parents ever heard those words come out of my mouth before.
Actually just remembered that I was being towed behind a truck on my longboard at 30 mph and got speed wobbles when it swerved. I got road rash all over my body and when I got in the shower to clean it out, I let water hit all the spots at once and I almost fainted from the pain.
a 9-10 pain is usually a go to the hospital situation. if its pain but manageable, then a 5-7. if it persists for a day or so, get it checked at. before I had my gallbladder removed, id have chest pains for 8 hours or sometimes literally all day and I knew something was up. Fixed the issue at first, but I had serious discomfort for a week that when I went back to the hospital, the organ was about to explode and I was only 18 at the time. People are saying its becoming a lot more common whether its the food quality or the trend of losing a ton of weight in a fast amount of time as I had lost 60 pounds in about 6 months from dieting. Who knows.
I was skiing stupid fast in some icy glades while it was raining and I ran into a tree going 20 mph with a allen wrench in my pocket, I thought I broke my bad it hurt so bad, I was like screaming in pain. then I was just in a daze the whole way down in the sled and in the ambulance to the hospital my stomach hurt so bad. no one took it serious in the hospital or ski patrol and once they got the catscan or whatever, i almost immediately went into emergency surgery for my shattered spleen with insane internal bleeding. now i have gnarly scar
I'd probably only put it at like an 8, but when I blew my knee out (dislocated & fractured patella, torn MPFL) it was the only time I've like audibly yelled/been moaning from the pain. Shit sucked.
My buddy is a recovering opioid addict and when he had to get ankle surgery he refused pain killers and anesthetics (because hes fully sober now) which is apparently a thing and he watched his own ankle get cut open and had to endure the pain of them sticking a rod in his foot. He said ever since then no amount pain compares and its hard for him to tell when he's injured because that instance alone boosted his pain tolerance to the fucking moon. He bit through like seven bite blocks and had a constant stream of tears down his face the whole time, most fucked up sounding thing ever but I'm sure that's close to a 10.
Worst pain I've experienced was when I broke 3 ribs and punctured a lung. The pain for the 2 weeks after was fuckin terrible. I also fell in my driveway a few weeks ago and smacked my head pretty good off the black top and that sucked.
Shattered my collarbone two years ago, got surgery to put in plates and screws. Once the painkillers wore off, I swear to god, I could feel every single hole and screw in there, could not stop crying and trying not to scream until advil/ibuprofen kicked in and I could fall back asleep. The best way I could describe it is like someone nonstop jackhammering directly into my shoulder. Easily 8 or 9 out of 10.

Something like this happened to me last year when I broke my collarbone. Woke up in the middle of the night couldn't stop crying but nothing really hurt, I couldn't go to sleep and everything was numb. They prescribed percs though but you'd have to take like 3 at a time to get you to sleep so they must've been weak
I had intestinal blockage after rupturing my spleen and I couldn’t stop moving/groaning it hurt so bad. Made myself throw up trying to relieve it. After i got to the ER I interrupted the doctor telling him to get me on some painkillers asap
Trying to boot-remove a bad ankle sprain on my own. I remember almost passing out in the back of my car cuz I skied-down and knew something wasn't right. Almost puked and got super light-headed. But severing my big-toe off nearly with an industrial grass mower that shattered some bones in my foot that needed surgical repair wasn't fun either. It required two rods and pins to stabilize before I had to get them removed. I got to size-down on ski boots for performance at least.

Had a coworker who fell off of a ladder and broke both of his heels and tib/fib on left leg. Like shattered. Crawled to his car and tried to drive himself to hospital, only made it about halfway before pulling into his girlfriend at the times house and having her drive him. Apparently was going in and out of consciousness the whole ride there. Had a lot of surgery done but for broken heels only so much can be done. He says he wasn't walking normally for at least 2 years, still can't walk on pavement for long periods of time without soreness. He says it was the worst pain he had ever experienced and he thinks anything worse would have just killed him.
It probably wasn’t a 10 but when I ruptured my kidney last winter it felt like I got shot. That wasn’t the worst part though. The worst part was me having to get a catheter put in so they could monitor the blood levels in my piss and such. Not a good time.
GayWolf420Fly Mowers. Those things fucking suck so much dude.
Almost got myself slipping on a wet slope pushing one of those billy goat brush mowers with the big rear wheels where the deck just slides on rail things.
but seriously I can’t remember any crazy painful things to compare to some of the stories above. I’ve lived a sheltered life I guess, knock on wood. Hope everyone healed up from these!
JevanqauviousIIIRecently I just experienced the worst calf cramp of my life and I wanted to kms right then and there and end the misery (I was playing basketball)
This was like a 9 on impact and went up to 10 when the good Samaritan helping me mistook my deep breathing excercises as me passing out. They shook me on the shoulder of the broken arm; appreciated the concern but fuck did it hurt.
