I've got this bad boy but it has made me an espresso snob. I rarely drink drip coffee anymore unless its all that is available, big fan of americanos with a splash of milk, a latte when I'm feeling fancy. Used to house lattes but was crushing through milk and decided to pull back a bit.

love me a good espresso.
I’ll usually doing an iced later in the afternoon for a little pick me up.
Non_State_ActorMoka pot with whatever is organic and on sale or best value at Costco. Typically that's San Francisco Bay Coffee Company rainforest blend.
I need to get a burr grinder at some point, thinking about going manually operated? I've been using a cheap Krups grinder for years, it will not die.
The rainforest blend from Costco is really good. Just a lot of coffee. I don’t drink enough ground coffee to buy that bag.
PartyBullshiitYou’re completely wrong. My keurig machine is sitting right next to the nespresso. there is no comparisons in coffee quality or brew quality.
nespresso is fresh ground sealed in a pod, nothinf instant about it. Unless you don’t understand the differences between instant and grounds
i mean if you like it that's great, but keurigs are not a high quality coffee brewing method. there is no seaping, no heat control, no bean control. ask anyone who's a huge coffee snob, the beans are 90% of it.
nespresso is a little better because you can still blast coffee grounds with high pressure water to get a decent espresso, but in the end its ground beans in a pod from who knows how long ago that is just being mixed with water.

That was my point. Keurig is not the same quality as nespresso. It’s far lower. I don’t like keurig at all. Every coffee taste like watered down ass juice. And neither are “instant” coffee.
my gf uses the machine for hot water and tea.coffee wise we only drink nespresso at home. As for nespresso they tell you where the beans are from, exactly what beans they are, when they were roasted and when they should be drank by all on the package. lol so everything you “quoted” about it is false across the board.
prior to researching and purchasing a nespresso machine I did have the same thought as you though. Glorified keurig I was wrong across the board like you are now.

OH sorry i misunderstood. the instant coffee thing was more of a joke, calling it bad coffee.
I was still unimpressed with nespresso ive had, but i've only had it a handful of times, i know they make a bunch of different pods. IMO its no where near the same as buying beans and going through the whole process, but who has time for that? nespresso is a good alternative for sure.
I got a buddy who got super into this shit, he was measure weight of beans, measuring perfect amounts of water, boiling water to a perfect temp, etc I watched a bunch of random shit he was watching about it cause I was curious. The packaged beans and all that shit seems super fluffed up to me, but it seems like you've done more research on that than I and I can't really say if you're right or wrong, i don't really intend to either.
I still think nespresso is a glorified keurig IMHO, like I said you can blast hot water into a puck and make espresso for sure, its not shitty like the keurig. Hell, im too lazy to grind, tamp and clean all the shit with a regular espresso machine, the superautomatic does a pretty good job but its certainly not perfect either.

Won’t disagree with you in the sense as good as nespresso is it’s not better than a quality produced cup of coffee using all the steps from bean to cup.
Its better than a lot of the drip stuff out there but when talking about the highest quality beans etc from ya you can’t compare a machine to a drip.
they do have a lot of pods so figuring out what’s good and what eh is key. They do a lot of small batch stuff from some of the top bean producers in the world. They’ll drop those like once or twice a year. Those are fire.
I also do more cups of coffee as well. I prefer the 7.77 oz pods. Ends up being a full cup with milk.

most espressos I’ll do over ice with milk.
I definitely need to try out some more of the nespresso pods, the bigger ones seem pretty nice. Im sure ill have an opportunity to try it again.
Despite liking waking up earlyish, I am still a zombie in the morning. I have a cheap espresso machine that I just pack the desired amount of grounds and water in, then press start. The only control is the ratio of water to grounds. It's still better than most regular coffee and I can't afford anything much better. Besides, even if I could, I would rather do the basic motions and stare at the wall until my cup is ready than think about the process to make a perfect shot. Don't get me wrong, great espresso is way better, but I'll reserve it for special occasions
ReturnToMonkeyAlso Ive been drinking a lot more black and green tea lately, steeping a bag in microwaved water is even more brainless
I go coffee in the morning and black tea in the afternoon. I find the caffeine buzz of tea to be much more slow, steady, long a lot less peaky and dropoff than coffee.
Not really espresso but it makes pretty good strong coffee, unfortunately my stomach can barely handle coffee nowadays
PartyBullshiitThat was my childhood right there. My fathers side is from Spain.
Moka pot are the bee's knees. Simple, elegant, versatile.
I did have to replace my ancient aluminum units with the steel induction compatible style a couple years ago, they're great, especially the updated silicone seal.
eheathi hate to be that guy but nespresso is just instant coffee, its the same as keurigs.

Eheath is kinda right-- not instant but I think he means instant/shit quality. Keurig is garbage brown liquid and shouldn't be a comparison ever. Nespresso is slightly better but compared to an actual brew that nespresso is trying to emulate, it doesn't even come close to comparing. I was gifted a nespresso virtuo for Christmas a few years back because my family knew I was into coffee. Nah shit sucks. I want those freshly roasted beans that are going to be used fast and are ground to the right consistency just before brewing. And you better brew it the right way at the right temperature for the specific method of brewing. It isn't all one size fits all.
Tldr: nespresso is overrated insanely expensive product of child labor with a massive carbon footprint. I can buy a bag of the best beans my city has to offer and brew 5x as much coffee or espresso. Putting good beans through (gasp) a drip coffee machine even tastes better than those pods lol. Trying to pimp someone out by saying they don't understand the difference yet you're cool with beans ground months ago is hilariously ironic.

I appreciate your opinion but you are just wrong on the quality of nespresso. I’ve been using the system and their coffees for probably 5-6 years now. I’ve tasted literally every pod. There just is no comparison between the two machines.
and again nespresso is better than probably 95% of the beans that are sold in stores. That’s just a fact.
I do agree then when you’re talking about the highest quality beans and process then yes it’s better than nespresso. That would be a step up at that point. But Kroger, heb, Publix, Safeway etc, most coffees sold there are not better.
I have a Breville Barista with the built in grinder and after using it regular coffee just isn't the same. I use the double filter and hit the double button twice. Pour that over ice and add some oat milk. Has the caffeine of like 3 cups of coffee and has less laxative effect than one cup of regular coffee.

Ya thats For sure better than nespresso. You get no argument from me there. I was comparing more to your mom and dad’s drip coffee. Not solid espresso machines.
I think one confusing thing for people is they think nespresso machines only do espresso sizes. I can brew up to a 18oz carafe.
I'm just trying to stir trouble. Those gas station bean grind to brew machines are getting close tho. Sheetz is the winner imo

SofaKingSicky'all are way off the trail, it's all about dunks i'm like the mayor of dunkins kid
Worst part about not living on the east coast is the lack of dunks. I have to make my own coffee now using dunkin brand coffee and dunkin brand creamer. It doesn't hit the same when there isn't a 40 year old construction worker outisde the front door smoking cigarettes and threatening to fuck my mother

For those of you that go to Costco, there is a company called Pinion in New Mexico that has delicious coffee and its a banger of a deal for their beans
ive used like the generic amazon basics pot for like 4 years now. Im afraid to buy something nice because being a coffee snob is like so 2018 and too expensive.

Nice pourovers are under 50 bucks and make the best coffee. It isn't expensive unless you are getting into making espresso
