JalmarKalmarGuide is what you need for a day or two if you are unfamiliar with the area. You really need to know where are no go zones or crevasses.
FinbawwrIf it’s cold enough, Flegere and Brevent have some mega sick terrain but it’s south facing here so you’ve got to play it smart. When it’s good though the best in bounds terrain in Cham is here in my opinion. The grand montets is pretty mean too, but it can get busy after a snowfall, but there’s some great freeride terrain here, especially in the Combe de la pendant bowl.
Then if it’s snowing at the time and white out Les Houches is essentially the only place in Chamonix that has trees.
Hope this helps. Have a rad trip!
GITGUDZILLAIt is a wonderful place to explore and well worth paying up for a guide to take you around.
Grands Montets lets you hit Argentière glacier - loads to try down there.
Aiguille du Midi to Chamonix on the Vallée Blanche is an absolute classic route: all 18km of it!
The Envers du Plan is great fun and also worth a trip.
Grand Envers..... some insane steeps, can be great on the right day with a guide but it's pretty serious at certain points.
Have a brilliant time!
awittYeah, my max budget for a guide is probably only a single day. Which of the above would you recommend for a single guided day? I know Vallee Blanche is the most iconic, but I'd rather check out some cool steeps instead of a long glacier run.
Also, do you have any recommendations for a certain guide company?
