Replying to ON3P Mango 90 difficult to control
I have a pair of Mango 90's with only a few days on them (they are detuned from factory), and they are very inconsistently grabby when trying to slide them sideways; the tips are difficult to control.
I looked at the bases with a true bar and they look good; I'm assuming something's wonky with the edge tune.
What would you do? I have basic tuning equipment, but little skill. I haven't seen many guides on how to tune park skis (I did look at Sagina's stuff but I don't want to spend 3 hours on my skis).
I'm thinking:
Quick side edge grind to 1 degree on whole edge length (not taking out muck metal)
Quick base edge grind to 1 degree on whole edge length (not taking out much metal)
Aggressively round edges on tips and tails that don't contact snow when on flat ground
Lightly round with gummy the rest of edges
Sound reasonable?
Thanks!
