Are these Full Tilt shells trashed?

Hi, I tend to buy up old Raichle and Full Tilt boots when I see them in (thrift shops or on Ebay for minimum bid) and strip them for parts. Recently I managed to get some nice Seth Morrison boots with the red translucent shells. But they have had a hard life. They have grip walk soles and the previous owner seems to have gone moto GP riding in them looking at the wear! I put some new sole units from a K2 FL3X TW on them but there's a big gap. Plus the K2 units are a lot thicker.
So the question I'm asking: are they trashed or would you use them?

This happens when ya don't change the toes and heels in time. Worth pointing out the tops of the toe and heels are pretty darn chewed up too.
They do not meet industry ASTM standards - they would fail "visual inspection" so reputable shops would opt to not mount bindings, etc with these boots... I personally wouldn't use them, but you would likely release from your binding fine 90% of the time...

Cool color. I guess being so old they were never shaped for gw soles.

I might strip them and reuse the buckles, tongue, cuff etc. Even the liners are sweet smelling! I have a massive collection of parts. I could start an ebay store. I see loads of ancient Raichle shells and I throw them away after stripping them down. Some of them are really in good condition. I actually froze a 30 year old Raichle shell down to minus 30 C and then attacked it with a big hammer. Survived fine but I still threw it away. Here's what I did when I was bored one day. I paid homage to the 1980s using my collection of Flexon bits. That's a genuine Nevica vintage jacket.
