BallClapperFrom the information provided I feel like this could have gone much better. Some people are just trigger happy. Could have just beat the dudes ass and left him alive.
cyphersoh damn looks like the article got updated. idk i’d want to see bodycam, sometimes it’s justified and sometimes not

PeppermillRenoGiven the gun culture in the US a mass shooting over paid parking is long overdue.

SteezyYeeteryeah wait till someone comes at you with a knife bud
HypeBeastWhat a lot of folks don't realize is the distance someone can travel even after being fatally shot. Even people that get shot in the head aren't always immediately incapacitated and can still reach and stab you. That's the reason they don't "shoot to wound" or whatever the fuck that means.
profa_212the ole 21 foot rule.
People that say shoot to wound have a fundamental misunderstanding of guns, their purpose, escalation of force, and general ability to shoot. if the gun is out and being fired, it is past the point of return.....shoot to kill 100% of the time. Don't stop until the threat is stopped.
not to mention 99% of people cant hit the broad side of a barn with a handgun under stress, even with training....add in a moving target and it gets even worse. Telling people to aim for the legs or whatever is a fucking fever dream.
PartyBullshiitShoot to kill is 100% the wrong mentality and I can assure you post like this would be used against you when you first go against the district for the shooting and second when the family comes after you civilly.
you shoot to end the threat. That’s it’s. The law is written to protect you when you fear for your life or your friends/ family. Not to “kill” someone. Big difference, and yes I own multiple firearms, I have a concealed weapons permit and carry on a daily basis, and have an attorney for a father.
profa_212clearly your pops is a lawyer. fuckin lol
Let me rephrase that. You shoot center mass until the threat ceases to exist. As a citizen you, or any cop, are not allowed to "shoot to kill", it just so happens that shooting center mass until the threat is contained often has the shitty side effect of ending in death.
I can see how shoot to kill can be misconstrued into something it's not.....you don't go out of your way to kill. I was simply trying to illustrate the point that you do not aim for the legs or purposefully aim for less lethal areas. Center mass until the threat is contained. Anything other than that, and you can fucking bet that the DA and others lawyer is coming after your ass until you are broke in a hole. That is the only way to use a handgun in a life-or-death scenario, which is the only time a gun should ever be used.
I am not a CC, or any other weapons instructor, and anyone using my advice in a life-or-death scenario is a fucking idiot. Don't get advice off of a skiing internet forum. Go get training and put a few thousand rounds through your barrel a year.
PartyBullshiitYes, he is in fact a lawyer. He has his own firm here in Florida and has been practicing for 35 years. He like myself is a firearms owner and carries on a daily basis as well.
If you’d like to message me personally I’d be more than happy to share his information with you. I’m 40 bro. Not here to tell silly stories on the internet or make shit up.
profa_212I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I'm laughing because you broke down semantics like a lawyer. Its pretty clear you were raised by one.
Also i definitely agree with you on your point. Shoot to kill isn't the verbiage that is probably the most useful and can have some very bad connotations with it. Shoot center mass until the threat ceases is a better way of saying it.
