Finn bilous gets on a podium at some point in the season

Hitzig and apoll finish top 5 overall. Ben richards gets a podium on one of the stops and so does Kendall

Marcus Goguen dominates with some insane trick for FWT or he crashes and burns messing up his whole run. Dude takes huge risks.

This is Max Palms season

Finn Bilous skis the best and gets last place, Ben Richards has the most style out of anyone all season and they impolitely ask him to leave the tour because its "embarrassing" the other athletes.

Anyone found doing grabs will be docked points cause the judges thought they were about to crash, and had to hold onto something to get their balance back

But why does finn get last? I watched him a lot and also thought that the score should be way higher, am I wrong?

The tour line up looks exciting this season and theres so many skiers in there that I think are going to start pointing it all into a direction that is nice to watch. The infrastructure around it all just might not support more modern skiing like being smooth and having style

Podium is the 3 Max's. Palm, Hitzig, and Chabloz
APol is 4th or 5th with a flawless but conservative run

Calling it now, Dillon Flinders wins the tour this year in close competition with Max Hitzig.

Just started watching now 2 hours 54 minutes is where you want to fast forward to if you don't want to watch snowboarding or ladies.

I really wish there could be a mens skiing only tour so we could get more events.

Little disappointing everyone who went big ejected their landings I wanted Weitlan Ho to take it he's my favorite skiier.

Chaloz run was slightly better than 2 and 3 but kinda vanilla good course too.

Ross was qualified, but chose not to compete this year. He probably has a movie deal or something to work on instead

Watched the replay, overall great start to the season I would say..
Snowboard men was decent, Victor in another league.
Snowboard women was not that interesting to watch unfortunately. You dont see the same step up in performance as you see by the women ski category.
In the Ski women there was some great skiing. Clear difference between women sending on such a steep face and others taking it safe. Astrid Cheylus should have switched placed with Hedvig imo. Zuza and Manon had great runs leading the next generation.
Then Ski men:
Great to see a Japanese guy back on the tour, Tenra had a great debut, what a way to kick off the ski men cat that way.
Respect to Marcus Goguen to send that way on that face, full speed all tricks high risk.
Valentin Rainer; so close, full speed all the way, always great runs from that guy.
APoll; classic with the Daffy, sending but on the safe side somehow..
Max Palm; respect, that was a massive air, tried to 360 that.. dude..
Simon Perraudin; creative approach to that cliff, massive air, I was expecting a double there but he cleared to whole thing before just crashing on his second air..
Colton Shaff: well done, strong but safe start debut, if you can call a backflip on that face safe..
Abel Moga; first half was solid, then the huge send, tries to clear the second half of the face.. Respect but also why..
Ben Richard, very solid, looked like he had more but kept it on the safe side, more to come?
Carl Regner Eriksson; a very Carl run, had it all but he skipped a part of the face where he could have added an air.
Max Hitzig: great run, solid, although he skipped the same part as Carl. Well deserved points but the win..?
Weitien Ho: great line in the first part, the double started from the rocks, the 3 was just to big and crashed.
Maxime Chabloz; solid run, typically Chabloz, huge first air.
Black Marshell: creative line, nice double air, 3 landing between the rocks was solid, speed was so high to continue sorry to see him crash..
Kendall Goodman: fast start nice line but also a bit odd, great flatspin, nose butter off the cliff was not big but nice to see on this face, and its always good to see a screamin seamen..
Oscar Mandin; starts fast but somehow doesnt makes the airs where others do, keeping it safe for his massive backie. Sorry to see him crash on the 3 after..
Jackson Bathgate: nice line choice on the upper part, to bad he shut down his speed before the double air, that cost him points..
Finn Bilous: Rowdy, not a face for him but the made it work with big airs in the best style.. If he could have added one more feature he could have won?
Martin Bender: nice line choice in the upper part, first air and then a nice place for a 3, but then also having to shut down his speed completely before the double air.. Then the huge 3, not sure that was a realistic option.. crash but respect for trying..
Thibault Magin; until the crashed backie solid run but in this field it would not have been enough for top 10
Kristoffer Turdell: classic Turdell run, a more creative line choice than others, some massive air but controlled, on the second he did shut down speed a bit so he would actually land it where other tried to go full send and have zero chance to stick it, that is where you see his experience as a comp rider, ending it with a backie from the windlip, deserved 3rd spot.

Overall great comp. Ski men cat is so stacked. Looking forward to the next venue..

Sidenote; I would love it if the FWT would add a venue that would give more way to freestyle to balance out the steep Verbier Venue. That way the more freestyle orientated riders could compete with the more classic freeriders for the overall win. Despite you see that more and more freestyle is coming into the competitions I would still love to see that happen.

Oh and Tenra Katsuno should/could have gotten 2nd or 1st..

Hopefully Kicking Horse isn't getting too rinsed this week. If they can do Wrangle this weekend they should be able to do FWT as well. We shall see. It'd be interesting if they have to move both Andorra and Kicking Horse.

They have weather windows for a week at each venue. Hope they hold a 2nd comp somewhere when the snow is good.

BC is currently getting slammed with warm, wet weather. I'm out on Vancouver Island so I'm not sure how well the north Purcells are holding up. There is a big mountain event there this upcoming weekend. If they are able to successfully run said event we should be good the following weekend.

I’m worried about KH in general. Been far as yoho and Rogers pass and still survival skiing everything knowing there’s sharks lurking everywhere. Someone’s going to rip their leg off.

I thought Goegen should have won, Max seems to have been overscored the first 2 stops TBH. His skiing is very impressive, just thought he shouldn't have had the W on both faces personally.

Weitien Ho got absolutely robbed and easily should have won. I guess he is punished for being 19 and asian by the loser judges.

Really enjoyed watching them ski T1 South @Kicking Horse. That's an incredibly gnarly venue to ski.

Would've loved to see a comp where everyone wasn't catching rocks every other turn, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Honestly pretty impressive for all the riders sending it in the conditions and Marcus goguen had a sick run for his first podium. Agree that the production quality is off the charts for these events, the best produced/streamed event in all of skiing right now.

Despite the conditions and venue still a good competition. The difference between the type of run the snowboarders and skiers could do was very big. Only Victor really had a high quality run in the snowboard cat.

I do wonder if you would research results and starting positions over the last years if some starting position score a bit lower. I feel mid starting positions score a few points lower when things are close. Does that make sense? There are so many skiers and the level can be so close but when there is already a wide range finished it is tough to compare?
Anyway, good fun, some sick runs. Looking forward to Georgia. It could become the best comp snow wise this season..

Looking back its actually pretty wild how good the production quality is for already many years. I'm not sure when they did that comp in the middle of nowhere in Alaska, 5 years or so.. but I remember thinking how crazy it was I could watch a live Full HD stream from a helicopter in f*cking AK.

One note on the production front: the drone often gets a bit too close for my liking.. You often do not see the surroundings / where the skier is going so there is no context to his movements so to say.. With a bit more distance you would get a much better perspective on what is actually happening..

I think hes just more focused on making actual money with skiing being in movies...made by his dad. Its like the clintons but for skiing at this point.

I think for him to set out against the rest would be to do something insane over chads gap just like his mentor, Tim durtschi did awhile ago. Cant remember what he did over chads. just know he did it. Think it was a cork, but it was something that pushed his career to stardom.

you cant really just start competing in the FWT. You have to gain points and qualify your way in. It can take years and you pretty much have to focus your whole season on traveling to different FWQ stops.


Also i really don't think he would do that great, it's just a totally different beast and thought process than filming.

it was a dub 10 over chad's but he was already a star, his EDIAS segment alone had him there before that

He has always been skiing in perfect conditions and FWT usually has questionable conditions. It would probably take a lot of time adjust from powder and helicopters to scoping your line from the bottom, walking up and hoping you don't fuck up your navigating.
