Elementary ESL specialist; I teach kids English and its fun as hell because most of my job is teaching social studies and science due to the content specific vocabulary being such a sticking point for language learners.

Three years ago for a persuasive writing assignment my kids watched Zeb Powell's knuckle huck runs, read an interview in Boston Magazine he did where the interviewer asked him about Beijing. The unit ender had them write persuasive letters to Zeb where the kids could pick the topics; one was persuading Zeb to visit their favorite ski area and justify their reasoning and the other was persuading him on whether or not he should keep stacking clips or train for olympic big air with justifications on why. He ended up sending our class a thank you letter and a quick shoutout video.

I guess looking forward, a cool job would be installing lights or antenna whips or some shit on cell towers, you'd get shredded while working since you carry like 50 pounds of equipment up. also I like heights

I loved Steep and the team in Annecy. Good people. Riders was a lot of fun as well - I managed to sneak in the JJ I worked on with AI and Armada so that was pretty awesome :)

Build machines for manufacturing things


We're almost cousins. I'm a SCADA specialist for a third party monitoring and control application provider for renewable's. But previously I was in a similar role for a wind turbine OEM where I spent a lot more time with my head in a PLC implementing control's, and data interfaces for wind plants.

You can probably get a job like this especially on the field level people try to get out of stuff involving carrying things and heights at a very young age.

I know it may sound stupid but I wouldn't be afraid to lie about some past experience. Can't make up stuff like working for a competitor but if you BS that you did tree removal for a few summers that will get you waved in the door.

I was a controls engineer for 8 years working with SCADA/PLCs but Ive since switched over to software development at one of the big three auto manufacturers.

Honestly getting into climbing (outside) would help with getting one of these. I've had recruiters hit me up for high-rise window cleaning work just because I mentioned rock climbing on my linkedin. The rope work is very transferrable and getting over the mental hump of being 300 foot up a wall are both qualities they tend to like in employees.

I'm good with rock climbing but also I already have freeclimbed a 1000ft tv tower, I probably shouldn't tell em that but I do really enjoy heights and working with tools
