mikemYou can get calf bang. Land too tip heavy switch and your boots will throw you to the back. This will hurt your calf.
michael_bcThe fact that it's only on one side suggests you got a slight injury somehow or maybe an infection. Ibuprofen and forget about it.
Brule.How much are you tightening the upper cuff? And are you still getting some gapping behind the calf when you rest forward? If that’s the case, your calves are definitely slamming into the back of the boot, which is causing that pressure over time to build up.
Running a spoiler plate in the back upper cuff of the liner might do the trick, however it will increase your forward lean angle by a degree or two. If you can’t run a spoiler plate, using a booster strap could be another possible solution because it allows the boot to flex efficiently with you and will also help snug up the upper cuff as well.
Non_State_ActorMake sure to stretch really well, calves, hamstrings a couple times a day and see if that helps.

SmokedGoudaMaybe its not a ski issue and you're not drinking enough water? calves can become a victim to dehydration in high intensive exercise or workouts.

Shin usually would be shin bang, and like others have mentioned getting full tilts or modifying them to fit better can help a lot, as well as someone on ns showed a video of how muay tai fighters get rid of shin pain where you get a really hot towel and rub/push down your shin from knee to ankle and thats worked fantastic for me
for calf i honestly have no idea i just wanted to yap about shin bang cure for a bit.

SmokedGoudawell yeah. If it's nd all of a sudden and not a normal occurrence, your body just might be outside of its normal equilibrium so yeah, id drink more water to see if that helps. Maybe an advil or two.
