Favorite mountain on the east coast

What is the people of ns favorite east coast mountain. Not park just all around mountain. I think killington for me but then again I haven’t been to much.

mmm i guess if i had to pick one it'd be jay, closely followed by stowe/smuggs (i'm grouping them together since they are next to each other and kinda share sidecountry areas)

all 3 of those get more snow than most (being northern vermont and high up) but jay gets more snow than anyone on the east usually

Saddleback is my favorite in every regard except for how far it is from even if I stay over my uncle's cabin up in the Whites.

It's got an excellent layout if you just want to lap the steeps and trees all day, far enough away from the cities of New England that there're never crowds, the entire ridge above the treeline is open for skiing if you feel like hiking and I remember a member on here was building their parks the past couple seasons (drawing a blank on the username at the moment) and from social media it looks like they've got a solid park culture there too.

Grew up skiing at Whiteface in NY so a bit of bias there, hard to beat March-April for east coast. Mid season can be very brutal with super low temps and boiler plate.

Now that I live in Boston I am at Killington pretty much every weekend. Hard to complain about the variety of terrain and when it’s almost completely open you can definitely avoid crowds.

Sugarbush, but I also have a soft spot for MRG, Stowe, and Jay. IMO that north to central VT area seems to consistently have some of the best snow conditions out east

Did Stowe, Sugarbush, and Jay while at UVM. Each season was great and all three offer great terrain. Jay offers a little bit of everything and gets good snowfall each season. It has some challenging stuff if you know where to look. That said, Stowe was always fun, especially hitting Cabot and Alchemist on the way back. I've been going to Bromley for a long time though, smaller mountain, no lift lines, good for a nice day of skiing

If we’re talking strictly about terrain I’d say Stowe. Every single trail has awesome woods to both sides and the summit/notch is always fun to adventure into. Haven’t skied jay enough to compare.

Their parks have sucked since vail took over, I guess they’re starting to build more but Bush will always be king of parks on the east coast for me.

Killington is overrated
