Will K2 approve of warranty here?

Second day on these skis and I just discovered this dent. Not from mashing skis together since it’s on my outer ski, and didn’t eat massive shit. Truly have no idea how this happened.

the part I can’t fathom is how the top sheet is unscathed at the dent location. If the ski was to take a big impact, wouldn’t that be the first to get crushed?

Well that is a huge impact so it’s not a manufacturer defect so unfortunately it’s unlikely that will be warrantied. But it can be fixed. Take them to a decent shop and see what they think.

They will probably charge 80 bucks to make a huge hole, push the edge out and fill it with epoxy that will crack the first run. Speaking from experience.

Well I have seen many of these repaired and last for the rest of the life of the ski. Find a decent tech in a good shop and your good but certainly expect to pay more than $80 for a good job

I’m 100% certain that I didn’t run into anything to cause that dent. And how can the perfectly fine top sheet above the dent be explained? Shits a little strange idk

that's obviously impact damage and not the ski's fault. Super easy fix if you're handy. Typically just a respectful bash with a small hammer, using a waxing iron or a heat gun to warm the base back to a flat surface once the edge is relatively straight.

But yeah dude the classic "i was just skiing along" and "i swear i didn't hit anything" won't work for this one.

I charged like twenty bucks for these because I had it down to as close to science as possible

but fr ik it looks like impact damage but how could just the edge and base get fucked while the top sheet remains fine in that spot. It’s weird lol

Wow you’re really held up by the top sheet being fine. Your edge impacted something, that’s why it bent. Nothing unusual about it at all. I’ve had this happen before. caught something under the snow (rock or root), double ejected and had this same type of damage on the outside edge, no sidewalk or top sheet damage.


Do you chuck your skis in the back of your car, or throw them into a ski rack? Doesn’t take much to bend an edge in when it’s hit between the teeth.

my edges are dented way worse then yours and the topsheet is fine, the impact just hit the bottom of the skis and not the topsheet.
