Years ago I developed an idea to ski in a more freestyle manner, as I felt the alpine ski boots being to restrictive for my needs. Through the years, I registered and abandoned a patent that protects alot of my thoughts, and developed a prototype.
Last year I HARDmounted the proto to a short, wide girls powder ski, as 10 years ago there was no ski wide enough to legitimately test my proto. I shredded abasin from top top bottom, and really enjoyed skiing in a way that I had never even imagined...
My proto is not safe for kids consumption. The theory of suspension, suspended lean via the back of the boot, Works. And im willing to say its TOO freestyle. I will continue to ski the "iron man" setup this spring, but I want more.
I want a ski boot that combines the current plastic shock absorbing tongue, with the suspended back. The back should have fully adjustable dampener, with lockout incase you want to race or aerial.
How did you do in the Burton Challenge?
Are you able to go from locked in boot slide, to locked in nose press? pop out and ride away like you are on ferrari skis?
