South America Ski Travel

Looking at summer ‘24 trip and looking for reviews.
- Portillo seems easy to get to, but small and isolated in bad snow year. Upside is affordable heliski, as heli goes.
- Valle Nevada is larger, equally easy to get to, but not much challenging terrain. Heli more expensive.
- Las Lenas looks great and huge but getting there is a bitch.

Advice?

Go to Bariloche, you can fly right in there. Thousands of more options for hotels/restaurants/transport than any of the places you got on your list. you can take a bus 3 hours over to San Martin and ski Chapelco for a few days easy if you want to hit up another ski area.

If you search there’s a member on here who’s based out of Cerro Castor in Argentina which looks sick and is the southernmost ski resort in the world.

Stay central, specially if you are going pre september. Portillo is good, just 2 hours from valle, parva and colorado which are good too. Terrain is probably more challenging in valle, parva and colorado than portillo, or the same.
