Are wooden rails grindable

I found a perfect handrail made out of wood in my region. Dani B hit some wooden rails with edgeless skis in the Gusto movie. Does anyone now if its even possible to hit it with edges or how to make it grindable.

Tree bark is tough to slide.
Best if the bark is removed and the cambium/sapwood is exposed.
Bonus points if it's wet

Edgeless works great on wood. Dull edges work too, especially if the wood is wet/icy. Be light on the feet and don’t scissor too hard.

People were sliding wood well before edgeless skis were invented. Opening couple shots of the new child labor movie were pretty gnarly kinked wooden rails and they looked fine

I met will wesson like 6 years ago and he told me he would pull the edges out on skis if he was planning to use them on aluminum or wood rails / concrete, and particularly on the tennis net in eye trip

I never had an issue, but my edges are as dull as it gets. I’ve seen my friends who insist on “detuning naturally” bite into the wood and go flying.

If your edges are really really dull most wood will slide no problem. If they have some sharpness to it and aren’t rounded you can still hit most wood especially if it’s frozen or wet but catching an edge is a worry.
