An inversion is a cold air mass that sinks underneath a warm air mass, which becomes stagnant and traps smog. If we were to detonate a nuclear bomb in salt lake, the upward force generated by the blast would be enough to lift the cold air mass over the warm air mass, thus ending the inversion and returning clear skies to the area. An added bonus would be the following nuclear winter, which could cool the surface temperature in salt lake by as much as 25 degrees C. In an area that relies heavily on cold winters for ski tourism, this could be huge for the local economy!!

Is politics the answer to natural weather patterns and effects? probably, write your governor a strongly worded letter, im sure they'll love to hear from you about it
