Shift doing shifty shit.

So, another dude with faulty shifts.

What do you think is going on here? Forward pressure is dialed and the din’s are the same across both skis yet this is only happening on this ski. Also, are shifts supposed to chew up boots?

i know several shift owners who have all experienced day ending malfunctions. there's gotta be some super common user error or major design flaw. either way they seem fragile af

i will say that boot chewing is usually more about the boot than the binding. my old FTs were made of some really soft plastic that would get munched by pretty much any binding except pivots

I was riding pivots before this and had no issues. Probably just going to order 15's and do the cast upgrade later down the road.

Gotta be something wrong with the din. I have shifts and haven’t had any problems yet I only use them for touring though

AMER has a 2 year warranty. If you bought them local, take them back to the shop and show them this video. If not, maybe spend 30 bucks for a release test, and if they wont pass, then call salomon yourself. And CAST is 100% the way to go over shift for anyone who skis somewhat aggressively. I made the switch to CAST from shift a couple years ago and havent looked back.

Another thing. What brake width would I get for pivots? For the bentchetlers. 115 or 130.

115 every time. Wont even have to bend the brakes

From my own, and my friends experience with shifts, I'd say the DIN needs to be cranked up more than you usually would. Forward pressure could also be adjusted a little tighter but that's at your own risk. They're such a delicate binding that in my opinion they should only be used by type 2 skiers or below.

Forgot to mention: the AFD tends to lower very easily so maybe you just have to screw it back up depending on what type of boot you have.

The tech added a "cf+1" sticker at the heel piece.

Have no clue. The bindings and skis were hand me downs.

How much? The other ski is fine just the right is messed up.

last winter i had these old line skis from 2014 and landed switch and my heelpiece tore straight out. bindings are weird

Then yea, most likely tired springs. Shop might be able to help but it’s basically turn em up past ur recommended din at ur own risk

Only two days on them and my boots are fucked.
