N41v131355I haven't skied Countach, skied old Deathwish, big fan of Mana 3. I know the latest version of deathwish got stiffened up, but previously Deathwish was a really soft ski. Mana is definitely on the stiff side, like really stiff. I owned Wildcat some time ago and Mana is slightly stiffer than Wildcat. What I really enjoyed in Deathwish - is the tripple camber. It's not sime marketing bs, it really feels and works well. It also helps with handling pow.
Answering you initial questions, I'd say that both Mana 3 and Deathwish do good job in pow for a 112 waisted ski. On a knee or waist deep day you'd probably want something wider, but how many days like these do we actually have... In terms of firmer chop, I guess it depends on your skiing style. Mana feels good just speeding and blasting through chop, while on Deathwish I wanted to keep speed at low-medium but they are so playful and energetic that you feel like you want to pop from each bump, not blast through them. I think both skis are awesome as a 1 ski quiver. I'm using Mana 3s for the second season and couldn't be happier. But sometimes when I'm tired and legs are sore I just wish I'd have something noodlier under my feet
Voyage86i’ve heard people say the mana 3 isnt very maneuverable and can get stuck in the pow in tight spots. do you every have trouble with it in the trees or the bumps like this?
N41v131355Mana 3 is definitely for advanced skiers. It's demanding, not a typical armada jj style - type of ski. But the same things that make it demanding, make them versatile in all conditions too.
I'm currently skiing Japow, and they perform awesome. Easy to pivot, easy to throw around, at the same time, they can really charge. You can check in Laurent De Martin insta how today powder was, but it was really good. No tip dive at all.

Voyage86ok cool, i just demoed the rossignol sender free 110 and i liked it a lot in everything except tight and steep spots. i’m looking for something simular to it but slightly lighter. the mana is about 150 g lighter so i’m wondering if this is the ski for me. do you have any insight to that?
