Im now prepping backyard set up for another wodnerful winter. But I got a question. Do you do any steps to treat metal rails after using disk grinder to remove the rust?
wire brush on a drill/ angle grinder is key. Also putting on some wd40 or metal drill oil while grinding it will make it smoother and take off more rust.
then wax with home brewed wax 60% wax 40% food oil
Someone told me wax gradually degrades metal, opening pores as it heats and cools and that vegetable oil is a better option. I've always used an old ski to scrape the majority of rust off.
