looks sick. the powder roost seems to make it hard to see the character’s bottom half. is that intentional?

Yeah I think they stopped producing boards in 2013 ish and closed down around then.

Good news the band got back together. They started releasing somestuff last year. Limited stuff but they're selling boards again. Cool to see such a legendary bran back to some extent. Hits the feels.

corked_gameCorked is a side project I've been working on in my free time, I had similar motivations to Malcolm and others, I wanted a game that played in a way that I liked with axis, butters and terrain etc as I'd have them. Its pretty similar to other games but hopefully has a novel twist that you might enjoy. Its free online with no ads or for download on steam. Controller support should be plug and play (except the mac desktop version). If anyone ends up playing it I'll definitely add a bunch of mountains and finish mobile. Lots of bugs so would love comments / constructive feedback.

A lot of useful feedback in here, thanks for checking it out, after a certain point I started putting things aside for a v2 and just focused on bare-minimum requirements to make it playable but want to fix the stuff that's most broken first moving forward

Testing controllers was tough, I only have a ds4 so I actually went to bestbuy and bought a bunch of different popular controllers, tried to get them all working in a weekend then returned them but I'm fairly confident that its that my config doesn't sync well with steam's builtin controller config, my guess is that you have the steam input for controller box checked and I think you've gotta uncheck it (annoying I know). Here's what I tested:

Browser Version:
ps4 (w/usb) Mac + windows -> plug and play
ps4 bluetooth -> using ds4windows / plug and play for mac
ps5 Mac + Windows -> plug and play
xbox one -> plug and play
switch controller -> plug and play

Windows Steam Version:
disable "steam input for "
ps4 (w/usb or using ds4 windows for bluetooth) -> pause menu ps4/5 controller setting (this is the default)
ps5 (usb or bluetooth) -> pause menu ps4/5 controller setting
xbox one -> pause menu "xbox controller" setting

great point, yeah when I implemented the lay/tuck animations, I thought it seemed weird now that he didn't look for the spin but is laying out backies thanks

littleman34Cool game so far works pretty simular to shredsauce. I found the guy was a little slow to react to controls and stuff. Also he always lifts his skis/bends his knees and on rails doing switch ups it looks wierd. Excited to keep playing!

knee bending is weird for switch ups, great point, I wasn't liking the awkward stiff look doing no grab tricks, maybe I'll add a delay where he chills for a second so before crouching up so it doesn't effect switch ups/ small airs, thanks

bandagedbrandoOne little thing. When you are doing a rail slide and there is a upwards kink, your speed carries you off the rail so that you are airborne without pressing jump. Obviously that's not an issue, but when this happens the rail slide sound effect continues to play when you're midair until you touch the ground.

yeah this is a big one that I'm been trying to figure out, I don't like my grind mechanics very much but have been struggling with a better way to implement it, glad to know I should prioritize it. (you can actually pop after the end of the rail too like double jump style which is also linked to that problem)

yeah I did some throw back ski/board graphics as the defaults to start forum was the coolest when I was young. good feedback on the roost, honestly just didn't put a lot of thought into it and is an easy fix. thanks!

oh and if you're on a mac, sorry strangely enough the desktop version doesn't like controllers, thankfully the webgl version still works for mac

I'm having some trouble but I found a way to fix it. I'm currently creating a controller config preset and just copying the inputs from the website, working so far. I can't figure out how to set deadzones though and my stick drift is absurdly bad so I need to figure out how to fix that lol

Yeah thats a tough one because it does look good 90% of the time. Maybe if its possible he could stay straight (or even a slight bend/switchup style) only when jumping off a rail? Like once he touches a rail this switchup/straighter style engages until back on snow. Just an idea might not be possible.

sounds like you have about a lot of time, money, effort, and care into this. sorry if anyone is hating on if. I think this is amazing for the first upload.

remember what shredsauce looked like on day one. just imagine this game in 11 years if you stick to updating it!!
