It’s a cool resort that was supposed to be an “Aspen type” experience. They got a tonnnn of investment but I think the head of development was mismanaging/embezzling funds and then the 2008 crisis happened. The village kind of sat underdeveloped/in construction for awhile. The former GM actually studied where I did in Tahoe and he got on a call with us to talk about it in ~2016. Sounded grim. He later fled town to MN because he was accused of sexual harassment, etc. I think he owns wild mountain in MN with his wife. It’s my understanding tamarack has new funding.
Their current issue now is competition from Brundage, at least that’s what the former GM said, and the fact that they’re relatively remote minus McCall.

Yeah, Tamarack is weird. Very much the Colorado/I-70 feel but without the tourist and major city to draw from. They keep heavily investing in their restate development and have pretty ambitious terrain expansion goals. They're not on one of the mega passes either so most of their business is coming from Boise. At this point I think their entire business plan is to develop it enough to get Vail or Alterra interested and sell at a gain. There just seams to be no way they're able to make gains in the condos without Ikon or Epic partnership.
Schweitzer just got bought by ikon, sun valley has ikon days… they just might have a chance lol
