what it takes to make a ski movie.

This isn't a question about how to be a pro movie producer but i was just wondering how much you gotta put in to make a good ski video that will sell. Anybody with an idea or even some experience, feel free to give out an idea or two. Expenses, travelling, supplies stuff like that.

We had a dog named Fritz, but he died. We cremated him and he's in a small box in the kitchen, in fact he's right behind me on a shelf next to a bronze apple award my mom won for volunteering at my grade school. I thinks its kinda creepy, but my mom doesn't have the heart to bury the little fellow. Fritz was a weiner dog, but one of the big hairy kinds, he smelled like cheese, somehow that was related to an ear infection that he got from my dad throwing him in our swimming pool. He was a good dog. Good dog Fritzy, good boy.

Berman puts in 18 hour days for a few weeks to get his editing done. Poorboyz does that and more. Jeff has been putting in tons and tons of time too.

a good camera with the right resolution and filters to get out the mountain glare are expensive about 2500 then editing equipment preferably non linear then here is the big thing talent if their is nothing worth filming then why film it

18-hour days for about a month or so on the editing for a 45 minute long vid is about right, at least when its just one person running the show...

The VX-2000 is better than the GL2, I think...

hokey dina i dont know math how much time per segment (avg). Also is most of the time sifting through all the clips and deciding which ones to include or actually putting them together to the finish product, or polishing it up or all basically the same? i want to work on that stuff when i grow up.

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)

Deciding which ones to include usually doesn't take that much time at all. It took berman and I for my section only about a half hour. It's all the little tricks and putting it together and getting the flow that takes so long.

On the other hand poorboyz has a grossly huge amount of footage compared to what I had with berman so it probably takes a good portion to pick out stuff.

Jibtech can answer that one.

depends how you measure success. Jeff & Matt, Dave, And Josh, Everyone puts so much time into There movies. THey shoot loads of film and although digi film is by far cheaper then 16mm it still costs them time which could be money to make there mark. But the product is sweet and i recommend anyone to buy Blunt, In The HAze or Strike 3 as they will all have a differnt style of editing and good flow to them. Surport what you belive in.
