Rock_InhabitantI don’t know a ton about pyrography, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to do it on gloves because of all the water and cold it’ll be exposed to. Also a harbor freight pen probably won’t work for what you’re tryna do.
Voyage86What would water and cold do bro? You think it would get un burnt?
muffMan.My partner wrote some sharpie stuff on my kincos before I sno sealed them up. Hold up fantastic honestly.
I wouldn’t do it to any Hestras or other rich man gloves.

MountainInMyMindI did this to a set of Kinco's mitts in 2020. Took about 16 hours of work with no prior experience, nor ability to draw (covid times).
I started with an anatomical picture of a brain (studied neuroscience in undergrad), a photo of my favorite mountains (Pilot and Index peaks), and a microscope image of astrocytes (brain cells, sorta).
The trick is doing this whole process BEFORE you waterproof the mitts. Before waterproofing them, it's pretty easy to draw on them with pencil or thin sharpie, so I made an rough outline of the design on each glove with a thin sharpie.
Then I traced that outline using a pyrography pen and used different tips depending on the width of the line and if it needed shading.
Then I baked and waterproofed them. Fast forward 3 years and they still look relatively the same, there's some slight smudging from the waterproofing wearing out, but they are still warm and dry.
Here's what they looked like after a couple days on snow! Good luck and happy crafting:)
