STFU I used to buy buckets of ice and crush that shit up in the middle of july to ski, but when it actually snows 2-3 inches that one guy that manages the bonezone insta will shit himself if you pull up ready to ski

Yeah I think thats the idea, but when it snows in September, there isn't gonna be any base build up. It's gonna melt 100% of the time. The whole reason for bonezone back in the day was for people to jam as soon as it snowed even 1/2 an inch. Not really sure why they insist on keeping it "closed" when more than likely all that snow is going to melt anyways and when its cold enough to actually have a real base the resorts are just going to open
Just stopping by to flex that Zero Zone is already back for the season- and our opener had even less snow.

The trail where Bonezone is located is very rocky. It usually needs at least a foot(of super dense) or two(of light fluffy) snow to safely handle the crowds that show up. There are many other places in BCC, LCC and Parley's where you can set up your own spot and ski with a small group of friends. If you go this route, please pick up your trash(that includes the features) so the Forest service doesn't get pissed and start giving out tickets.
Yeah things kind of change when the preseason setup is run by a resort. Brighton provides the area, the features, and even some diggers? The amount of people that show up there now is insane, a couple inches of snow would be gone in hours with that many people hiking there. Not to mention liability. Just be happy you have a spot for everyone to congregate, most resorts dont set rails up for free use. If you really want to ride, go grab some pvc and find your own spot

Today there was no snow anywhere except the lips to the rails and tubes, everything was frozen leaves, grass, and dirt. It honestly skis really well for just jibbing tubes, like the best turf you could ask for. Harvested half the park with push shovels and a tarp just for snow to dig in a 40' challenge rail

You're not entitled to the features that are owned by the resort, nor do you have a say on which areas they open and close while in pre season operations, especially for a free spot. If you want to ski on the first few inches so bad, just go set up your own pvc on north facing forest service land, there's plenty of it in guardsman. Thats what everyone did until like 5 years ago, until brighton and the brighton diggers decided to do everyone a favor and organize the bonezone into an official thing, which has been beyond sick. Its brighton's features, they organize it, they do the lions share of the labor, including cleaning up when kids leave shit around, so they get to control it. If you set up your own feature, you can do whatever you want, just be sure to clean up after yourself
