hamsauceWhat do you mean by “riding din at the lowest”? Do you mean riding what the shop sets them at? Or do you mean riding at the lowest din setting your bindings offer? My $.02 on both:
- ride at what the shop sets until you prerelease. No need for ego to kick in when your knees are on the line. Most injuries i see are when people dont come out of their skis when they should. If you ski a lot of big mountain stuff, maybe you will want dins a little higher, but doesnt hurt to test it out for a day or 2.
- it is a myth that its bad for the spring to be at the lowest/highest setting. The manufacturer adds a little leeway on either end for the spring, so if its a pivot 18, its safe to ride at 8.
squidwardzYe riding at let’s say 8 (lowest din setting) on a p18. Cause some shops say it’s fine but some say no
found some good deals on strive 16s and my din is set at 7 rn

teabagWill someone explain to me wtf are skier types? Is it just like beginner, advanced, expert or what
hamsauceYou will be fine at 7. Heres another thread confirming it. To quote OneNerdyKid-
"The only risk you run being at the very start of the DIN range is if you lose weight, get a bigger boot, drop down an ability level, etc. basically anything that causes your release value to go down, you won't be able to with this binding."
