Thought on Patagonia shells for no wet ass

Thoughts on wearing patagonia snow gear (im talking about the higher end shit in an xxl, 3L goretex looks pretty spicy) I’m sick of having a wet ass on the lift from stupid parachute pants

Wear whatever will keep you warm and comfortable
nobody will care about the brand you're wearing unless it has a big obnoxious logo

Hydrophobic waterproofing spray is like 8 bucks. Takes a few cans a season. But it's cheaper than 400$ for some new gotetex 69420 Uber hardcore shit that still lets your ass get wet

All very true fellas, I just have a pro deal with them so I get like 60% off brand new gear but would hate to look like an idiot or a damn granola dad, but getting xxl should do the trick hopefully

Patagonia is a sick company actually doing a lot of good in the industry sustainability wise so there is zero shame in wearing patagonia. If I was ready to invest in some of their pricier stuff I’d do it.

Okay, so I LOVE my Patagonia stuff. I have stayed pretty dry, but do find myself having to re-up the waterproofing every szn, that said, I have several pairs of Patagonia shells that perform well. Outdoor Research shells have held up for me too. I honestly like the Carhartt raingear for truly waterproof shells, I also have good luck with Helly Hansen-- they make sailing gear and my boyfriend swears by them for skiing, construction, and the likes.

I got one of their higher end shell jackets last season. Would've cost an absurd amount of money except I had the pro deal at the time for 65% percent off. Never owned anything goretex before but I really love that jacket. The material itself doesn't feel as nice as its arcteryx counterpart but the waterproofing never let me down. I assume the pants would be similar

Been rocking the gortex patagucci pants for 2 seasons now and am yet to get off the chairlift with a wet ass. Trew gear also makes pretty solid jackets to pair with your Patagonia pants if your down to mix brands.

Its your choice to choose some weird fashion route over actual functional waterproof pants. Accept the consequences and stop crying or just buy some waterproof pants. And do not start about money, you can find second hand high quality gear everywhere for cheap.

I bought a pair of shells this summer for hood and I loved them so much. I'm 6' and I went XXL but I kinda wish I went bigger.
