Bending 120 brakes on a 100 ski

So I recently bought some 2015 line blends with pivot 12s from a ski swap for 40 bucks. The skis are in incredibly good condition considering how old they are but the pivot 12s have 120mm brakes and the skis are 100 underfoot. Would it be a bad idea to heat up the brakes and bend them inwards or do I have to buy new breaks? I assume they would drag on the snow if I tried to lay them over on edge.
If anyone has any tips please LMK

your brakes clip up on each other while your skiing. Just buy 100mm breaks

So the brakes are NOT 120. The 120 on the heel is the model designation. They are fks 120 heels.
the brake should be a 115. Pivot doesn’t make a 120 brake. They have 75-95-115-130.
those are forsure not 75-95 nor 130. They are 115’s.
you could swap them for 95’s and they will work fine on a 100 ski.
remember though you must dismount the binding and take it apart to properly remove the brakes on pivots. It’s not just a simple brake swap.

Evidently the 120 was only available with the 95 and 115. So they are 115 brakes.
“With 95mm and 115mm brakes, they'll fit pretty much whatever boards you have, letting you shred everything from groomers to trees to pow to steeps like a legend.”

You won't notice anything while on edge, it's when your feet come together that wider than ideal brakes will give you trouble

Okay thank you everyone for the responses. I need to remount them to fit my boot size anyway but IG it’ll be fine

9 times out of 10, ski shops have a box full of spare breaks. They might just swap them out for you if you ask. Either that or you can get rid of the breaks completely if your based enough

Check with your local shop first. If they can’t help you, it is possible to take the brake part out and use a vice plus hammer and wooden block( to not scratch) and bend them. First you bend them straight and then to desired width. I did it to some 130s and brought them to about 105. Took me about 2 hours
All times are Eastern (-5)
