I dont know if it's because we're all bored on NS so we make these threads or if it's a very american thing to divide skiing into polarized topics (hard vs soft, racers vs park rats, etc)

Here in France you can be sure that :

- Every pro freeskier spent many of his weekends hitting plastic in the local club when he was young, and some at a very decent level

- Every youngster hitting plastic is encouraged to ride pow to develop new skills, and to learn about mountain safety in general

- Anyway every coaches will stop racing training to go shred the local woods with the kids, even building small kicks to try 360s and backies

- Not only some teens are rockets between gates, but they also send hard on local couloirs and cliffs
