Norway skiing on the cheap?

Welcome to Denmark! Most people from the danish ski scene live in or around Copenhagen, and thats where you will find all events/premiere's and so on. There's actually a premiere this saturday for a danish all-female street project. Consider joining the facebook groups 'Snowboard og ski sessions i Danmark' and 'Snowboard og ski sessions - KBH'. You might find someone down to arrange a trip, which will lower the cost of transport significantly. Cheapest way to get to Oslo is the Flixbus from Copenhagen, it might test how core you really are tho.

You'd probably rather start looking at EasyJet and Ryanair flights to Italy/France/Austria (e.g., Aarhus > Milan). Skiing in Italy is really cheap and seriously epic.

For cheap, go to the alps. Will probably get more bang for buck. Most norwegian resorts have gotten even more overpriced.

I have no clue, i only ski Norway, Danish people that come here complain that it is way more exensive than going to the alps.

I have heard from quite a few people that Italy has cool culture, food, and apres ski but that the snow is less consistent and skiing generally not as good as surrounding countries.

I’ve only skied Austria and France in the alps but I have heard that comment from a few people.

It really depends on where in Italy and it varies from season to season. Obviously the places on the border with France and Switzerland are very similar to France and Switzerland.

From Milan: Cervinia, Monte Rosa ski, Courmayeur
From Bergamo: Livigno, Valchiavenna, Bormio

Or Austria also cheap, e.g., from Memmingen or Friedrichshafen: St. Anton, Silvretta-Montafon

Spent a season there. Would very much recommend. There are a lot of cabin rentals that are pretty cheap. The busses there are pretty good. I pretty much just used frammr.no for shorter rides and took a Flixbus from Oslo to Copenhagen and back. I've heard/seen from clips Geilo and Oslo Vinterpark have pretty good parks. Heard Sogndal gets some of the deepest in the country but is also one of the most crowded. The Fjord there goes really far inland so I guess you get lake effect + low inland temps. Did mostly touring but resorts I skied were

Oppdal: Good mountain, lots of skiable terrain, decent park. was pretty windblown both times I went there but there was some good stuff in the trees.

Stordal: Had one really good pow day there. Lots of really good drops, probably my favorite terrain I skied inbounds.

Bjorli: Had 2 really good powder days there. Not as steep as Stordal but had a ton of snow which was too much to ski terrain there that was steeper.


The touring there is really good but being more coastal you get coastal winds which don't make nice with lots of snow so be careful.
