Long time reader first time poster here..
I wanted to know peoples experiences doing a ski season in South America specifically chile but also Argentina. I spent the winter in whistler BC but have to go to university now (sucks ik) got a fair bit of experience last year from a near beginner level, racked 125+ days on the season and loved every minute. The problem is now I am committed to university over the winter period for the next 4/5 years and idk if I can go that long without skiing. The uni I’m at (university of Birmingham, UK) runs freestyle sessions in a snow dome every other week so I’ll be able to hopefully tune some park skills in the meantime… but I have to do a couple months soon or I’ll go crazy. Anybody who has done the same thing or has any insight on jobs accom ski culture etc. (I don’t speak Spanish so obviously a bit of a mountain to climb) Visa’s (I’m from the UK) would be greatly appreciated. Before you all tell me to do my own research.. I have but most of it is from 10-15 years ago where people are saying I’ll be paid 60£ a week and likely to get sold to a cartel so kinda hoping the situation has changed! (I will obviously be spending the next 8 months learning Spanish)!
TLDR; did a season in whistler but stuck in the uk for the next 5 winters — advice on South American season for a Brit that doesn’t speak Spanish
thanks very much all insight is appreciated
