littleman34Is it not a normal thing to put the bar down?
j.rocthis made me lol but seriously-
it's amazing how many people have slammed the bar into the back of my dome without any verbal warning
KilaTsunamiAnother great reason for a helmet, you can't always tell when somebody is Canadian
BradFiAusNzCoCaI have learned it’s basically everyone else except Americans that drop the bar before even leaving bottom station

BradFiAusNzCoCaYes and there’s places in the west that use the bar?
I was implying Americans overall don’t prefer to use it.
ajbskiFrom my limited experience, Tahoe and mammoth, no one uses the bar.
closing day at mammoth there was a guy in a banana hammock complaining about the seat being slippery from his sunscreen but still didn’t put down the bar

eheathmost experience skiers dont use the bar, ive been skiing my entire life and I never use it. if someone I am with wants to use it, thats fine, but most ppl I know dont like the bar down unless they want to rest their legs.
ajbskiHard to find any hard data, but it does not seem like there is much correlation between safety bar use vs fatalities from chairlift falls.
eheaththe east coast is way different, isnt it the law in vermont?
