Who y'all liking for this election? It's a bit early but curious.

I just read through all the republican candidate positions and I never thought I'd say this in a million years but Chris Christie has the most logical positions of all. Anyone who thinks we can sever economic ties with China is a moron, and that's half of this group running.

The democratic party is high out of their mind to have Biden run again. Same goes for anyone supporting Trump.

Too bad this country is a two party system because I'm sure there's some Independents who would be really good...but if you're not in a party, you aren't getting the votes. The reality as shitty as it is because then those people in the parties make concessions to appease groups.

Incumbent advantage is incumbent advantage. Dems won't take a risk as long as ol Joe is still kicking.

The republican party can't shake themselves of Trump, Desantis seems to be weakening. Trump might still be their best shot, even with indictments.

I've found that the (while not perfect) but most unbiased and data-based coverage comes from 538. It's kinda like the dry pregame commentary for the NFL where they just talk about stats and try not to pick a side, but for politics. It's good if you like that sorta thing

- Belives fossil fuels cause climate change, but says we should burn more, to grow the economy, to pay for the disasters caused by climate change. Constantly sucking Trump's dick.

- Again? Really?

- Says politicans should not be inovled in "culture war" issues, but is quick to cave in to fearmongering about "critical race theory" and trans people.

Mike Pence
- Yet another religious zealot. At least he stopped Trump's coup attempt

Asa Hutchinson
- allowed doctors to refuse non-emergency medical treatment to LGBT people based on "moral objection"

lmao that republican debate was amazing. Reality tv at its finest, wish they would have one weekly. Best part was the 5 or so times they had candidates raise their hands to answer a question, and each time you could just watch these slimy fucks look across the line of their opponents and then make a purely political calculation, never once actually giving a real answer.

Highlights:
1. moderator: raise your hand if you believe human caused climate change is real
-not one hand goes up except for this dude (Hutchinson) I’d never heard of from Arkansas that briefly put his hand up and then looked across the line and saw that nobody else had raised their hands and immediately lowered his and tried to play it off
2. moderator: raise your hand if you would still support Trump (if he is the republican nominee) even if he is convicted of felonies/is in jail
-Nikki Haley: (who obviously despises Trump) immediately raises her hand in support as she visibly cringes at herself. In the split second before she raised her hand you could see her making the political calculation in her mind and deciding “fuck it”
-after Haley each candidate raised their hands one by one as they succumbed to the mounting peer pressure
-Vivek goes on to call Trump the best president in history (even as he is actively running against him)
-Christy initially sees all the other hands raised and raises his hand in support of Trump (even as he’s supposed to be running as the purely anti Trump candidate) and then realizes this is supposed to be his moment to stand out and claims he was actually wagging his finger no (as he is loudly booed) and grits his teeth as he says someone has to call Trump out for his crazyness. You could visibly see Christy self destruct as every political instinct was telling him to be supportive of Trump in front of the very pro Trump crowd but he had to go against him since his whole campaign is that he is not a Trumper.

I could go on but yeah that shit was just wild. I especially appreciate how none of the candidates have good pokerfaces so you can just clearly see them making political calculations before and as they answer each question.

also was hilarious to see all the candidates go after the one brown dude the entire night, and not attack Desantis once, even though Desantis is still by far the favorite among the non Trump candidates. Just couldn’t ignore those racist instincts. Disclaimer: I think the brown dude is a retard but the irony still stands

Can we just go back to old school republicans? I just want some old dude who thinks corporations shouldn’t pay taxes. That way we could have progressive politics and not just continue to embalm Joe Biden because he can “probably” win.
