Civilish War in Russia?

TLDR: Wagner Group has now entered into direct conflict with the Russian MOD, and has taken territory in Russia.

In the news-

It appears that after an increase in friction between the Russian MOD and Wagner group Wagner leader Prigozhin has decided to take more drastic actions. It appears that over the past 24 hours the Wagner group has entered into direct conflict with Russia, per both Wagner leadership and the Russian MOD.

This comes after Prigozhin alleged that the Russian MOD was sandbagging his forces in Bakhmut by not providing the necessary equipment or support required months ago.

In the months since there have been claims of infighting between Russian forces and Wagner forces over supplies and equipment. Culminating in what Prigozhin claims was a direct Russian strike on Wagner forces killing dozens.

Now after more Russian strikes on Wagner infrastructure, and Wagner claims of shooting down two Russian KA-52 helicopters, it appears that Wagner has taken control of Rostov and is continuing to move troops and equipment towards Moscow.

This also could be entirely manufactured by Putin as an exit strategy for the Ukraine failure. Create a theoretical coup in Russia, pull all forces from Ukraine to defend the homeland, successfully “defeat” the coup, and declare that Ukraine was a victory.

maybe? But I doubt it since the head of Wagner would probably like to control Russia too

I feel like this is the correct theory considering they’re already in negotiations

Considered this, seems like something that could be possible but it seems like so far, it's business as usual in Ukraine.

Seems like Mr. Perogi was potentially trying to get out of his contract that is coming up, and actually get away from the MOD that's allegedly been fucking him. Doing what he did in Rostov gave him a great bargaining chip, and it seems like he potentially got what he wanted.

I don't know where the Russian MOD goes after this though. Between the RLF raids in Belgorod, this, and loss of territory in eastern Ukraine...I'd guess that there may be some defenestration in the near future

Conspiracies and assumptions aside, any successful coup by a fucked up group such as this (read the wiki on the Wagner group. Appalling), would be very bad for the world. Putin is unstable and psychotic but at least he's somewhat rational..
