A good option that, they're not super light in the longer sizes tho. Vision 98 would be great and you could definitely do the 108 with that brake if you wanted (personally not a fan of next years topsheets but whatever). Also the Bent 100 should definitely be on your radar as well

I was a big fan of the rmu apostle 98 with the wood core. They were holding up great until I snapped the nose of one on a rail stand. Definitely a lot of fun.

I bought a set of Duke PT 16s for a neat price of 200 dollars.

Im looking for a playful light touring ski, twintip or partial twintip.

I got the 100mm brakes, but is 100mm skis the widest they can be mounted on?

Ive been looking at the vision 98, but anyone got any other good choices?

With most breaks a bit of wiggling will let you go up 10 mm from the recommended width.

I’ve got the apostle 96 with the tour layup and they are wicked fun. Not a charger by any means but very easy to ski in all types of conditions and playful

Sounds like our Pioneer could be a good fit.
It’s light but with plenty pop and energy from the camber and carbon on the underside of the core. It’s also well balanced if you want to spin/flip on them.

For sure check out Atomic BC 100. I've got them with shifts and am very sold on it as a touring ski.

You can tour on anything, but some layups and models will be more fun that others. Kick turns on 193cm Cease and Desists was less than enjoyable for me.

I think the question really is - for Ski touring where 90% of your active time will be going uphill, are you realistically going to be finding and first time hucking features big enough where you need something this burly. Hoji hucked most of his shit on pin bindings.

Im leaning towords the Bent 100, cause its probably the most fun in the resort and on the way down.

Yes definitely. 110 would be too much width for me on the east coast. I will say the extra 10mm of ski width on each foot will add a good bit of weight overall compared with a narrower ski though. I think 95-105 is pretty money for touring. Especially if you ever end up on firmer sketchier snow, you will be happy with a narrower ski.

Id do the wildcat out of those. Heard really good things about them around tahoe.

Dont know much on the Bent. Visions are a good ski, but the couple of people Ive known with them have had to retire after a year or so because of durability.

Between those two I would absolutely go with the wildcat tour over the bents.

I have the standard version of the wildcat 108 it’s a fantastic ski. I also have the bent 120 and have skied the 100 and 110. They are all fine skis but do not compare in anyway shape or form to the wildcat.

another note. The wildcat 108 started life as a touring ski. Not a down hill charger. So the tour ski is one of the top ones out there.

If you were going to go non tour ski with the bents then I would recommend going non tour with the standard wildcat 108 but in that case I wouldn’t even use tour bindings. Id be going pivots with cast.

in your case already having touring bindings I’d pair them with the cat 08 tour.

if your willing there are commander tour blems onsale for $399. Can’t beat that.

I believe you will need the 125 brake. I’ve heard someone stretch the 100 to 106 ski and it was very very tight. Almost not usable.

I can take a picture of the fitment tomorrow.

If i remember correctly i didn't shave the plastic things. brakes still worked without problems.

Definitely not fine if you are landing with your feet close to each other. I didn't like landing with monoski on my feet. Once they even got caught to my pants while carving and that wasn't fun either.
