Head Oblivion Skis

Anyone own a pair of Oblivion 79's or a pair of Oblivion 84's? I'm curious to know how they feel on the mountain.

I like my skis on the softer side but I've thought about getting a narrower/firmer ski for days when the snow is packed down and the slope is a bit icy.

I had a pair of caddys which is the same ski as the oblivion 84. They were pretty quick edge to edge, had good pop and are easy to butter if you're on the bigger side. I'd say they're on the stiffer side of medium flex, with a smooth and even flex pattern. It wasn't hard to hold them in a butter but you could also easily initiate a nice pop out of a butter.
Their downfall was the durability. Started to fall apart before they ever touched a rail and when I sent them back on warranty they wrote it off as 'rail damage' even though the edges were pristine and the part that was delaminating was in front of the bindings.

oblivion 84’s are good skis but it’s basically impossible to do any sort of butter/manual on the flip side you can land extremely backseat and you’ll maintain grip and be able to ski off just fine so if you’re looking for a more comp/pipe ski good on hardpack the oblivion 84 is a good ski
