I'm with you on this one. It never gets super cold where I ski so layering has always worked for me. It sucks to wear insulated pants on warm spring days.

i have a pair of hella baggy rain pants with no insulation
i just want a pair of pants for cold days so i don’t have to wear 3 pairs of sweatpants

For sure, in Montana it’s pretty cold some days, and I usually just rock a pair of smart wool base layers under.
The wind is more killer than the cold, I have some harlauts, but the outer material is so ass wind just rips through it. Same weather the next day and I’d have on some baker bibs, I don’t feel it at all.
Harlauts look good, but man is the quality mid, I got them for a deal on B/S/T but would never pay full price.
