Me and my homies just finished building a summer ski setup, and it's pretty damn nice. But it's kind of annoying to have to walk back and climb up the ladder for every hit, so we were thinking of building a homemade rope tow. I've seen them a few times on Youtube but never bothered looking into them. Anyone know how to build one? Or if it's even a good idea?

We just bought materials from Home Depot, it was basically a bunch of 2x4s, plywood sheets, and turf. All in it cost like $250 (with a PVC pipe rail). Haven’t built a rope tow yet, that’s what this thread is for
I feel like the best way to diy it would be to rig up a hay rake with a bull wheel and run it off a tractor. if you have a tractor and a hay rake lying around lmao
setup looks so nice! Hard to imagine a rope tow fitting in that small space tho.
I'd focus the remaining budget on building more rails to give the crew some options...
It's annoying, but the hike back up the ramp is a blessing in disguise. Hiking my setup all summer I used to get my legs strong and ready for the actual ski season.
