Its so rare that I crash. This is the first one that actually hurt me. Got a cool bruised rib from that try. I was trying a cork 5 from a quarter pipe take off and gap over to a landing space.

In my 30s so I took it easy for the first two months of the season; onlly rode through the early season park once. So first day out in February; bluebird day in the high 20s right after that two day deep freeze in New England. Take the tram up and I’m headed down to the park enjoying myself, go off a side hit and as I’m dumping speed my left ski charters across some ice and the outside edge up near the nose catches. My right ski releases but my left stays planted as I cartwheel over my left leg.

Ruptured meniscus with complete tears of the ACL and MCL. The MCL snapped with enough force to cause micro fractures in my tibia. I threw out the orthopedic surgery pictures because they were disgusting but here’s a post op MRI of my sliced up knee tissue. Top left you can see where they drilled implants into the knee.

No footy, but had probably the worst scorpion of my life getting stuck in the untouched heavy wet snow at WP today. Sunk right in and did full front flip on my face.
