Need help for a cork 5 in the pipe

Cork 5 in the pipe has been a trick I only got to session a few times in my life. I hand built this little wall with a buddy and I gave the cork 5 a try over the flat when I realised the wall wasnt good enough.

So 2 tries, 2 crashes. Same problem as the last time: I go off axis, get the 450 in and dont align with the pipe. Now I have some footage to help show whats not working.

How do you set this thing right?

i'm a certified non-expert in pipe tricks but when i learned flares on QPs i had to pop off the wall WAY more than i ever thought i should in order to land where i wanted, i think that would help you here

personally i felt like i was popping myself into the flats but it got me landing where i needed to be and gives you plenty of time to bring the rotation around

also are you purposely making the rotation less flippy? that's dope if so but i think it's easier/simpler to go a little more straight up and down on the flip/"flip" part, at least at first. it makes the rotation super easy

also maybe go a little more straight into the pipe as opposed to aiming down the wall so much

I was aiming to throw the off axis way hard in order to come around in a weird landing. Sure felt like I was giving her and felt like I was way more off axis. Could be the angle of the shot thats deceiving. Thats a shot of the wall.


I think you are right. Learning the flair would be a better way to learn the cork5. I thought it would be easier to go off axis that inverting in the pipe.

yeah man i think that sounds right, maybe a better pipe skier will chime in but that's my 2 cents-- a little more vert and set it a little differently at least for now. honestly flippier stuff comes around more easily for me

remember to flex that core of course...!

needless to say though you're mad close dude you got this for sure, hope you get to try again soon. wish i was hitting that fun looking jump with ya

OP honestly it looks like you're throwing the trick over the lip into the tranny, what happens if you try and travel less to the left?

Ok my username aside, try to focus on staying in rotation and slowly adding more cork or maybe a bio (feet same level as head) Try to keep your core tight and use it to keep your legs and torso in a straight line. Throwing your legs up and over will throw you off balance instead of off axis.

The setup wasnt true pipe. It was only 8 feet from the flat, getting air wasnt easy. I tried a 5 and both skis poped off; there was not time to spin a 5. By hitting the wall like a hip transfer, I could get better air and more time in the air.
It would have looked was more dope if I actually got to stick the trick
