There were 648 mass shootings in 2022 and there have been 192 this year. It’s a sad reality, but 5 people getting shot isn’t really news in 2023. 196 people have died so far this year, 470 have been injured.

I understand what you’re saying, but I think it’s a problem that it’s so widely understood and easily accepted that we have this dual understanding of gun violence. There’s “actual” mass shootings (white victims) and then there’s the hood over there skewing the stats because there’s a gang shoot out every night.
