If you're talking to them about it and rooting them on it's fine to show them. But if you see them struggling on a trick and just roll in and do it you're basically saying "Fuck you, you suck, I'm way better than you" even if thats not your intention. If you see somebody battling for a trick just be supportive or keep doing your own thing

I only do it to certain close friends to mess with em haha. Also motivates them at the same time. Sometimes I’ll be trying a trick or a friend is trying a trick and I hop in and try it to. Turns it into some friendly (and beneficial) competition to see who can do it first.

Nah you’re right in your own bold kind of way. I agree, seeing someone do it in your face can definitely light a fire under your ass that you may have needed to finally pull it off

It's been skatepark etiquette forever. Even in skiing when hitting street spots you don't go for the same trick your buddy is trying.

I like to do things that look or sound fun. And if someone does something and I think I'm good enough to try it and not get fucked up and it looks fun then why not. But if I'm like hike filming and this happens then I always keep trying to get the trick I was trying first and put that one on like hey if I get this before you get that I'm going to join you trying it and let's get it

One time i was trying sw lip to sw on this down rail. I tried it like 10 times and woodsy was skiing laps past. On his third lap past he skied switch into the rail, locked eyes with me, and then proceeded to stomp the steeziest sw lip to sw I'd ever seen.

I don’t think it’s a dick move. Sometimes you just gotta take people to school. I do it tree skiing all the time, you spot some dudes floundering around in the woods and you just blast past them catching air and jibbing trees. If I see some kids standing around at the top of a cliff I will 100% stomp that shit in front of them lol. It’s not meant to put people down, more of a “bet you can’t do this!”-type vibe. No need to shit talk, let your skiing do the talking.

I don’t care if it’s not proper etiquette at the skatepark, that’s a different sport and skate tricks take wayyy more tries usually so that’s irrelevant. If you can stomp something first try show em how it’s done and ride away
