Title says it all, can we stop with the 5 swaps on a rail? I’ve found in my studies that one swap is sufficient in 99% of unsponsored cases. We’re greasin a pole, not composing some lame ass balance beam routine.

This does not apply to presses or surface swaps on handrails for some reason. Every test I ran came back inconclusive or straight up negative. If anyone can find that double nose press b dog did on the quad kink this year please post.

5 surface swaps maybe, but if someone’s doing a proper bs or fs 5 times on a rail that’s pretty sick

On Luke Votaws 2 Planker Pod he said the reason why he does tricks like that is because they’re the hardest and he wants to do hard tricks. A lot of skiers are completely oblivious to the fact that theres so many ways to do hard tricks on rails that don’t include spinning more. I think its honestly just a misunderstanding for a lot of ppl.

I still never see ppl ollie or nollie into their swaps. I think fs tail tap at 90 is sick. Proper ollie back 2’s, actually doing a nosebutter instead of reverting, etc. Theres so many ways to make rail skiing harder

I agree. To be fair I have seen some cool triple swaps too but its very rare that they look good. Fs bs ollie to sw is like the sickest dub swap imo. Always looks good. If you ollie out of any trick it makes it look 100x more sick because it shows you have control

oh my god I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I hate that trick so much and when I said that to my friends while we were skiing one time they all looked at me like I had just killed somebody or something

Multiple swaps are cool when you have some sliding in between swaps where your momentum stops. If you don't lock in after the swap then its kinda like a revert idk

Siver throws down but multiple front swaps is not impressive. Relatively easy to do front swap front swap after front swap. Doesn’t showcase any skill it just looks dumb asf lol.

When i was younger i had a similar mindset where i wanted to do hard switch up combos that i had never really seen before. But what it comes down to is adding another swap really, which at a certain point you should just learn something else, like a lip 270 or something, where adding a swap isn't really learning a trick. I still think that dub swaps 270s out combos are cool, depends which ones, but triple swaps not really most of the time, depends on the rail and how it's done. At the end of the day, skiing is a visual thing and complicated tricks are impressive but hardly ever cool to watch or stylish.

Also, if you ski a lot of park rails or pvcs and are into hard tech tricks, your perspective will be very narrow. That's when street comes into play and you should take those skills to the streets, and hitting more and more streets and watching street parts will open your mind to what looks cool and what doesn't.

One swap per one minute of footy, golden ratio.

The switch up is a building block for rail skiing. To invest a career into scissor locked ballerina spins, is whack AF, a d I called it the way it was a decade ago. The jocks of the sport needed comp tricks to train and the anti-freestyle was forced down our throats...some quit, some just kept it freestyle.

The idea of buttering and pressing was toyed with by the best, but was never supported as anything more than goofing around. Ollie's made the team at freeskier blush....
blunt-sameway270, tail-nose switch ups, butter blunts... The future of jibbing is still behind a locked door.

i can back this ! i was playing around with fs nollie swaps, and boy this made me step back and think i never thought i'd say fs swap is hard. there is plenty of standout skiers going down this path recently and i thoroughly enjoy it.

It is possible to blind swap from nose press to nose press. Keep it freestyle!

CoachTrifesi can back this ! i was playing around with fs nollie swaps, and boy this made me step back and think i never thought i'd say fs swap is hard. there is plenty of standout skiers going down this path recently and i thoroughly enjoy it.

he's a teenager ofc he's narrow minded, it takes a lot of experience to have good vision and trick selection

Jackson wells used to huck quads look at him now, it's part of the process

Its called a noseslide not a nosepress. A nosepress is when you go 5050, a noseslide is a railslide on your noses.

BLandzIts called a noseslide not a nosepress. A nosepress is when you go 5050, a noseslide is a railslide on your noses.

Marketing is whatever, hes just tryna sell them. Cool marketing doesn't always mean a good product or a good company lol

The skis are like $500 if you buy the "blemished" ones lol. I promise you the marketing will mean nothing the day you actually ride them lol
