Place used to be sick back in the day. First mtn I saw/hit a rail. They had some pretty decent sized jumps and a pipe. Eventually a bunch of rails.
First time I saw somebody go inverted was a ski patroller in the pipe.
My cousins lived in North Syracuse and I'd get there on christamas for a day or two and a couple other times.
I know the parks dove off hard for a while. Hopefully they're building something decent.
I wonder what song is building these days too. Not every day people ralk about CNY mtns on NS. Instant nostalgia
ShwordleI did see a video of some guys throwing down that was like 10 years old. Gave me high hopes
theabortionatorYeah. Somebody from that area used to be on here and occasionally post. I think it fell of and then maybe started to come back but idk where its at.
Def rooting for that place and all the small hills. Place was never the best park ever but they had pretty big jumps and a decent amount of rails at one point. 2 of the kinks were a little short and steep, s rail was pretty sick.
I don't really even know anyone in that area anymore
ShwordleI plan to go to Syracuse for college next year and I’m really concerned about still being able to ski in while at school. Through the Syracuse ski club we can get passes to Labrador mountain and I was wondering if anyone knows how their park is. I’ve looked it up and I can’t find much of anything on it and even if they have just a few rails I’ll be pleased. Worse comes to worse I can pay a wee bit extra for a Greek peak pass and find someone to trek me down there but that is far from ideal. Syracuse park scene help a homie out
Mrworm10I was Class of 2020 at SU. There were a handful of us park skiers at the school, but not a ton. I skied the Lab park a couple times and its pretty decent. Fun to just do hot laps through, but not so much like a hard shredding progression park. Mostly rails and a small jump or two when I was there. Couple short flat boxes and rails, some bigger boxes (cannon, battleship, etc) and a handful of decent rails (short dfd, the sketchiest rainbow rail I've ever hit, and some longer small flat tubes). Id say at it's best you could probably get 6 or 7 rail hits in per run. Don't let the state of the park totally dissuade you though because Lab is a really fun little community mountain, and that is a lot more what the ski scene at SU is about. Ski Club is pretty rowdy but really fun times and good people. It's just as much about the social aspect as it is the skiing aspect. I usually found myself just wanting to have a fun sesh with friends hot lapping more often than super hard shredding.
Of course, I haven't been to Lab since 2020 so I can't speak on post-COVID, but I'm sure not much has changed.
Theres a couple really nice urban rails around the SU campus area as well. HMU if you want some deets.
TLDR; SU is an awesome school and while I didn't ski park as much while there, I don't regret it at all. I'd try out Ski Team freshman year and if you don't like Lab, the send to Greek peak isn't bad.
AndreyaZvonarI don’t think Greek Peak is really worth it. I live in Ithaca and end up driving back to a vermont a fair bit. Got some super dope urban in Ithaca though, although it’s only snowy enough maybe a 1-2 times a year to hit stuff without having to move a bunch of snow.

Lab_or_bustSong is building whatever the local rats dig in without the owner knowing. Miss the old days of lab too :(
theabortionatorDang. Are there any good parks in the region these days even?
cbraun21lmao. Toggs no more, owner of song and lab is greedy af, greeks expensive and looked like they had a decent park at times but nothing crazy. Honestly wasn't that mad this year tryin new stuff on a fat plastic tube at lab with some other dudes hiking all day. Sending new stuff with new homies can more than make up for a shitty park
