True. Used to have a lot of Norrøna, but ended up downgrading to Burton for looser fit. Definitely a step down but still high enough quality with Goretex 2/3L membrane.
For me, it's always been utterly impossible to understand how people settle for non-waterproof ski gear. Or the quality of the trendy parachute pant brands. Yes, the weather patterns have their differences geologically but I've yet to find a circumstance where the benefit of a proper shell membrane is non-existent in skiing pants. I ski in a hoodie for most of the days when the sky is clear, but whenever some form of water drops down from the sky, I'll wear a Goretex jacket too.
