Was just searching tall t productions on Google to check out any deals, and see virtika is paying for ads to get above Tall T on search. Not even selling real tall ts just t shirts.
Just a scummy buisness IMO.

eheathWell good thing you don't run a business. This is a very basic business practice, SEO is very important these days, not even close to "scummy".
r00kieSEO is to try to be the top hit for a type of product, not literally stealing someone's branding for yourself and out bidding them on Google ads.
-DanThis doesn’t happen when I google ttp. Maybe you been on the virtika site recently, or abandoned a cart with them and you are just being retargeted.

eheathBeing at the top (buying an ad) is part of Search Engine Optimization as well, no point getting nit picky when you know I'm right.

Profahoben_212same here. When I search, the ad above Tall T productions is a Tall T prod ad. It's just targeted advertising and I am guessing he has searched for virtika a few times.

skiermanWeird, nothing about Virtika in my search results.
r00kieBidding someone out of the name of their company on Google Ads would be an abuse of SEO. But there's a lot more to SEO than just bidding. It has a lot to do with site content.
muffMan.Sponsored still has to mean something
eheathmy point is that businesses using keywords from other brands is completely normal and not scummy.
r00kieUsing another companies name that they have a right too is not the same as a keyword lol.
eheathyou can 100% add a name of a company as a search term for your website, im guessing tall t productions doesn't spend as much on google, or depending on your search history/previously viewed pages is more significant.
there are tons of variables, everyone seems to have different results, virtika shows up under tall t productions when I search them on google.
the internet is sort of the wild west when it comes to search, you can do basically anything you want. i remember when I worked at NS we did a ton of shit to show up on different searches, it's a very common practice. SEO is fascinating really.

Paul.Just because something is a normal business practice doesnt mean that its not scummy. Disguising your products as a different company’s to try and trick people into buying your shitty product is absolutely a scummy thing to do
partyandBSThose Virtika shirts are whack. Are they trying to be in tourist shops or something? Lesh is from Wisconsin but theres a CO Native shirt lol.

J_Steezits not dude, SEM is buying ads... SEO is all Organic optimizations. you aren't an expert on everything like you think
eheathwhatever dude its potato - potato I never said I was an expert, but I have experienced a ton of search related discussions and practices, the point is this kind of stuff common practice and people get sensitive about their favorite ski brands and lose all sense of reality.
J_Steezyea this ad placement is definitely something someone would do so non-chalant in a business setting. definitely a bit scummy regardless.
eheathThat's business baby
