Inflation vs flapping

This is pretty dumb question but does anyone know why some pants like Harlauts and Vulgus's inflate and catch the wind as you ski while others like R3valuates and Anytides get pushed up against your leg and flap in the wind as you ski. At first I thought it had to do with inner leg vents but I tested and this seemed to be false.

I have a pair of custom pants that are built to the same dimensions as 2xl Harlaut's and they have a thick shell with a full fleece liner and they flap

if the inside is thick, like more layers if you know what i mean. Could line them with fleece or something

Depends on the shell I think mostly, if something is very waterproof it can lack breathability, so all the wind just gets pushed against your body.


harlauts suck but the reason you ssee them inflate is cause the shell is actually just letting the air pass though.

I have a pair of really thin pants that used to flap really bad but I started wearing my virtika shells underneath them and now they stay good
