What is the funniest thing someone has asked about your skis, poles, boots, etc.?

Ill start
yesterday I had some lady, she had to have been in her mid 50's bless her heart, ask me if my visnhu wide beads were actually beaded and would not believe me til I took them off in the liftline and she felt the topsheet. Me and my friends were dying.

Had this one dude probably around his late 60s staring at my pivots that were rotated and he asked me what I did to my binding, musta thought I destroyed them but i told him bout the rotating pivots and he was in disbelief. To be fair this guy was in jeans with the visor on his helmet so idk

My homie and I were chillin in the lot about to go over to the lift and some lady walked past like “I love your skis what are they” (homie has the beadwork’s and I got wide+) he said they’re Vishnus and then she was like “oh I love Fischer, they make great skis”

he was like “nooo VISHNU” and she nodded but pretty sure she didn’t get it

we were dying

I was tele skiing one day and some guy who had obviously never seen them before was absolutely losing his mind over the concept... Asking me 'how I modified my boots to allow myself to ski so weird' and all this stuff...

I had to explain to him about 5 times that I didn't just like DIY all this stuff myself, but rather this stuff is made specifically like this and he just straight up refused to understand it haha.

I rode the chair with a couple of old guys who asked me how to say ON3P. They couldn't remember that so they called them C3PO --the gold guy on Star Wars.
A very recent one, I rode up with a kid and his dad. The little guy asked if the sidewalls on my Vs were metal.

Dude. I used to rock them when they were called live life's and same thing. It wasn't until I saw someone else on some that I completely understood what they were talking about.

Ive got the common question of how to say ON3P and are your poles wood as I have some Panda Poles, good conversation starters really.
Many years ago when I was young, we use to tie bandanas around one leg thinking we were cool. I was maybe 10 and I had a Coors beer one tied around my leg just above my ski boot and this older guy in the gondola at Big Sky asked me if I thought I was cool because of that and I answered him saying "cooler than you". His buddy laughed so hard for the rest of the ride. I guess I thought I was pretty cool.lol

if i’m not touring i ski with really small poles still. i had one pair that was super banged up, missing a basket, duck tape, etc.

went skiing with some fam for the first time. a friend they brought berated me all day about them, so i hit a couple cliffs and straight lined a few mogul fields to show them what’s up. we don’t see that guy anymore 😂.

Some dude asked why all 4 tips on my beater skis were "rubberized" (they had duck tape) and how my bindings brakes sticking out sideways like antennae. He ended up revealing he was on shrooms and it all made sense then. Beat up skis apparently are a good convo starter, he ended up giving us acid lmao

While at the top of my tour a guy came up to me while i had my pivot toe and the cast toe in my hands and asked if i broke my toe piece and how i was gonna get back to the car.
completely understand the confusion just made me n the homies crack up.

The old Salomon spks had a sick design with red and black but they were opposite colors and people always would ask me I was wearing 2 different boots. I think Salomon never did the same design cuz everybody would get asked this
