I ordered a pair of custom pants from my buddy and told him to just copy the measurements of 2xl Harlauts and they turned out pretty well definitely very baggy

I just pulled out the crotch and traced around a pair of my casual pants, adding an inch or two to each measurement besides the waist for bagginess. Keep in mind a little goes a long way cause the pattern is cut 4x (twice for each pant leg) so don’t go too crazy. Would suggest trying with an inexpensive material if you can for your first try, I screwed up my first pair and it kinda sucks if you waste the nice stuff. For material there are a few options but you’ll want a waterproof shell layer (nylon ripstop or something works good here) and a softer inner layer (I used thin fleece). I chopped up a pair of size 60 jeans found at the thrift for my first pattern and added about 3 inches on each leg to make them a little bigger. Helped me figure out ideal measurements because I could try the jeans on before sewing to be confident in size. My favorite pair I've sewn was with a 3-layer nylon: https://www.rockywoods.com/Mid-weight-Nylon-Taslan-3-Layer-Waterproof-Breathable-Fabric. After many days street and park I can say it lasts but definitely hurts the bank. They make a cheaper 2-layer one which is pretty durable too, but it has this rubbery texture on the inside which was sometimes frustrating to sew with (though I'm definitely not proficient with a sewing machine so might have just been a problem for me). I cut my fabric about 45 inches long, and 30-33 inches circumference in the leg. Keep in mind you loose some length after sewing and hemming, so that 45 ends up shorter.
