Nooo dude that’s a bummer. I tried my first backy on a park jump and basically only spun around half way. Somehow I walked away completely fine. Sometimes you just get unlucky. Heal up.

this, you 100% couldve had it if you popped earlier and set the flip right there (in your hips) and committed

don't get down on yourself man, that's bad luck you got hurt in the pow landing. as said, this is 100% within your capabilities so if/when you're ready to try again you can def get it

Your stance was backseat on approach. No prewind at end of approach. You set with hand and head only.

A better set and committing to the tuck would've helped a bunch.

But real talk, I would try to improve your air awareness, IMO the best way to flip safely is to have great air awareness that allows you to quickly pull out last-minute panic tucks, unwraps, whatever is needed to avoid landing directly on your head

Honestly you landed a lot better than some people. Def go woth the doc and be safe. Back and next stuff is nothing to fuck woth. Be careful.

You kind of jumped up normally and then pulled into it almost. It needs to be one motion like you would on the tramp. You can def get bucked especially when just learning them though.

Sucks you go hurt. Hope the healing goes well. Just to keep your mental frame clear after the injury i would do a lot of tramp or pool flips.

Committment is the biggest thing and coming off an injury on a trick it can be scary.

You had enoughairtime that even woth the wierd pop it almost came around.

Look at your head. Your head was looking at the landing forward when you went into it and stayed their the whole time. Your body follows your head so if you look back it goes a long way. Also lets you spot landing and open up or tuck. If your heads facing the other way its kind of a gamble. You could land maybe but you wont see it coming till the last second.

On the plus you stayed straight and dodnt turn to one side. Just get a feel for looking straight over as if you could spot your landing over your head from the take off. In a fluid motion.

People flip differently and have different things that work but mine always feel pretty similar to a trampoline other than drifting forward. Gainers off cliffs can help too.

being able to do it comfortably on a trampoline helps a lot.
