Gender arose from the natural dichotomy between the two sexes as modern society evolved. To deny its existence or to attempt to obfuscate it to the point of irrelevance is like trying to refine what multiplication in math is. That is why people are upset about it. Gender is fundamental to the human experience not a “bullshit concept” as you believe.

alpha.mooseI am honestly annoyed that everyone treats this issue as a simple binary with a yes or no answer. No one is saying that fully grown sex-assigned males should be able to transition and immediately compete in women's sports. That is obviously not fair in the majority of sports. This is a relatively new issue in sports, and much more research is needed to make the best guidelines possible. Current regulations are based on the best evidence we have right now, even if that data is incomplete. Regulations for each sport and athlete will evolve as new research becomes available. Whatever changes need to be made should be data-driven instead of relying on preconceived opinions and biases.
That being said, lay off the trans athletes. They are following current guidelines, and it isn't their fucking fault that current regulations aren't perfect. If you have an issue, take it up with governing bodies of every sport, but don't target these athletes. These athletes are just trying to survive out there. You can be empathetic to the struggles trans people face even if you disagree with current guidelines.
