the first time around just use some plasti dip and see if you actually like it. Peel it off if not.

Idk what ur budget is like but all spray can stuff you could try doing some kind of primer, color, and then clear coat (specifically Spray Max 2k). I did this combo for one of my mountain bike frames and it held great
